Shakara Couture was founded in 2005 as a family-run business. It is run by creative director Ewemade Erhabor-Emokpae. The products of Shakara Couture are a fusion of Western and African print, and is inspired by the vintage glamor of the 1920s to 1950s. The label is based in Lagos, Nigeria.
