Olajide Williams MD, is an inspiring example of a leader who is using his medical expertise to change the lives of others in innovative and revolutionary ways. ?Originally from Lagos, Nigeria, Dr. Williams received his medical degree from the University of Lagos and completed his Neurology residency and fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at the Neurological Institute of New York, Columbia University Medical Center in New York. He is board certified in the practice of psychiatry and neurology and received a Masters of Public Health degree from Columbia University?s Mailman School of Public Health. The award winning neurologist currently serves as the Chief of Staff of Neurology at Columbia University and the Director of Acute Stroke Services at New York Presbyterian Hospital

As a nationally recognized leader in stroke education, his impact on his community around him is far reaching. When he is not treating patients and working on cutting edge research, Dr Williams is reaching out to the younger generation through his organization,?Hip Hop Public Health, to educate African-American and Latino youth on chronic and acute diseases that affect their communities.
