Nunu Ntshingila-Njeke is recognized as one of the most powerful women in the world of advertising, and is bringing her talents to Facebook as the new Head of Facebook Africa, following the end of her tenure with Ogilvy & Mather in September 2015. The celebrated advertising veteran has broken the mold and completely shatters the stereotype of the African woman, proving that the continent?s women are as versatile as they are talented.
Ntshingila-Njeke? was born in Soweto, South Africa and received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Swaziland and an MBA from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. She started her career with Ogilvy & Mather as an account executive and over the years, was eventually promoted to her position as the CEO of Ogilvy & Mather South Africa where she managed the company?s functional units across South Africa and affiliate office across the continent.
As the new face of Facebook Africa, she will be responsible for expanding the company?s growth and reach in other countries on the continent where the use of Facebook is highly prevalent. Ntshingila-Njeke will also engage local business partners on the ground who will add value in advertising and promotion of services.
Ntshingila-Njeke is a well known presence in the Africa business scene, and is recognized by her peers as as a leader in the world of advertising. In 2012, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award by Financial Mail for leading the transformation of the advertising industry in Africa. She was also named Business Personality of the Year in 2005 at the Top Women in Business and Government Awards.
