LILIAN BLANKSON

Born in New York to Ghanaian parents, she received a B.A. in English and a Masters of Arts in Literature and Creative Writing from the City University of New York. She began her decade long career with BET Networks, where she was responsible for managing the Network?s programs, specials and awards shows. She was later selected to assist in the launch of BET Networks? International channel in the UK, Ireland, Africa, and the Middle East. Strategically engaging both her African and American roots, she currently serves in a variety of roles in this position including Director of Programming Content, Writer and Producer, Talent Relations and consulting on African Programming. She founded Princess Productions and Entertainment, a media outfit that serves as a platform to leverage her passion and specializes in developing and promoting African entertainment. She has worked successfully with various artists including Ghanaian artists D-Black, Sarkodie, Kwaku-T, Ayigbe Edem, Tinny, BabyG and Reggie Rockstone.
A writer at heart, Lilian Blankson has served as a columnist for the Canoe Quarterly and several other publications. More recently, she launched Princess Publications and self published her first book,?Rain Love Poetry & Portraits.?This work of art is a collection of exquisite black and white portraits that portray equally effective life poetry, with copies sold throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, Ghana, and Nigeria. As an emerging author she continues to develop short stories, novels, and several essays which she intends to release under her publishing company. In recognition of her esteemed work, she has received several awards including the 3G Media Awards for Excellence In Entertainment.
She currently resides in Rockville, Maryland in the United States.
