In a continuous effort to preserve memories of a rich and diverse heritage, the museum opened up a permanent exhibition in December 2013 which focuses on Batho, Bloemfontein?s oldest township. South African Museum houses scientific collections that range from age old fossils to unique collections of insects and plants. Visitors may check out reconstructions of South African dinosaurs or pre-colonial archaeological collections from the 1890s. Giza, Egypt
Described as the largest archaeological museum in the world, GEM is situated right near one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Pyramids of Gaza.
