ACHA LEKE

acha lekeAcha Leke is a young professional whose talent and skills have allowed him to excel, even among his peers. Originally from Cameroon, Acha Leke received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he graduated with honors and as the school?s first black valedictorian. He received Masters and Doctorate degrees in Engineering from Stanford University in California in the United States. His professional and personal life has been marked by a passion for people and the African continent.

With prior stints at Pacific Monolithics, Inc and the Spectrian Corporation in California,he began his career in the offices of McKinsey and Associates in Johannesburg in 1998 and later joined the Atlanta office in 1999. He transferred back to Johannesburg in 2002 to help expand the firm’s operations across Sub Sahara Africa. He relocated to Nigeria in 2010 where he is currently a Director and Location Manager in the Company?s newly established office in Lagos. He was also one of the lead authors of McKinsey’s highly acclaimed Lions on the Move report, a document that discusses the sources and staying power of Africa’s economic growth, the continent’s compelling business opportunities, and the rise of the African urban consumer.

His achievements abound outside of his professional life. He is a co-founder and member of the Board of the African Leadership Academy, a co-educational boarding school in South Africa which aims to develop the next generation of African leaders. He is also a co-founder of the African Leadership Network, an invitation only network of the current generation of African leaders who aspire to bring prosperity to the continent. Among his many accolades include his selection as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2008 and as one of the top 100 movers and shakers in Africa by Les Afriques. In 2011, he was selected by Forbes as one of the top 10 youngest Power Men in Africa.

He finds fulfillment in helping to shape the lives of others, and serving as a mentor is a big focus of his. Acha Leke is married and resides in Lagos, Nigeria
